Status
NZ entered the Covid virus environment in a relatively strong position with a nett debt to GDP of just under 20%. Therefore the ability to borrow overseas finance is likely to be well supported. However, private debt is high compared to most of our trading partners, mainly due to our very expensive real estate both private and commercial.
